Enrichment Programs

Aurora Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme has a variety of activities. The details of each activity is provided on the following page for your information. We have worked in partnership with well-established professional local organisations to curate this programme and are delighted with what they have to offer our learners at Aurora.

Junior Engineers:

Does your little learner love to tinker and create new things? This Snapology programme will give your child opportunities to build functional LEGO® DUPLO® models of elevators, amusement park rides, robotic dogs, spinning tops, and so much more! As your learner works alongside other little engineers, they will be learning the importance of teamwork and how collaboration is an essential component of engineering and design.

GameBots and Coding with Lego Spike Prime®:

In this game-focused robotics program, the young engineers will explore the basics of robotics while playing some really awesome games with and against their classmates! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, students will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges and awesome games!

Video Game Design:

Create your own video game in this awesome class. We’ll teach you how to design your very own online game with Stencyl game creation software. You even get to take your game home on a flash drive so that can be shared and played at home with family & friends.

Judo

At Aurora, we are offering two programmes, levelled by age. These classes offer the learners the chance to improve their fitness, balance, and coordination in a fun and engaging way. Over the lessons, they will learn to control their body and movements, allowing them to become more self-disciplined and challenge themselves. As they are introduced to the basic principles of Judo, the learners will practice simple movements and learn to spar safely, under the guidance of trained instructors. For this activity, all learners need to wear judogi. Please contact us if you would like assistance with purchasing these.

Football

Well trained and qualified staff are experienced at supporting learners to develop the skills and techniques needed to improve their football abilities. Through training activities and practice matches, the coaches will help the learners to build up their fitness, coordination and stamina as well as to develop social skills like teamwork. By playing together, the learners can grow individually and as a team, allowing them to play football better, longer and with more fun!

Movement and Dance

The teacher has a wealth of experience teaching different types of dance to all ages. At the culmination of the movement and dance programme, all movers and dancers can participate in a closing show to demonstrate their love of music and all that they have learnt.

Hip Hop and Zumba – All learners should wear comfortable clothes that they can move in and also socks.

Ballet – All learners should wear leotards, tights, and ballet shoes. If you need assistance with buying these, please contact us as we are happy to help.

Chess

The primary goal of educational chess is to use the game as a tool for learning and development. It emphasizes the educational benefits of chess in terms of cognitive skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and academic improvement. Educational chess often adopts a more inclusive approach, welcoming players of all skill levels. The emphasis is on the learning process rather than intense competition.

Vietnamese Games and Crafts

Our teacher would like to offer an extra option for Vietnamese-speaking learners to play and create in Vietnamese. In her club, learners will work on projects using their Vietnamese language skills to help them, practicing in a fun and engaging way, as they build their vocabulary.

Fashion Design and Sewing

Under the teacher‘s close guidance, the learners embark upon creative projects in which they get to make decisions at every stage of the design process. Through these classes, learners can explore:

  • Introduction to Fabrics
  • Fundamentals of Sewing
  • Pattern Making
  • Mood Boards
  • Sewing Projects
  • Sketch Book
  • Upcycling
  • Final Collection

Basketball

This high-energy program is designed with fun games to get our kids moving and improve their motor skills, especially hand-eye coordination. Our dedicated coaches will provide initial guidance on how to catch and bounce the ball to foster their physical development.

Moreover, through the act of passing the ball and working together to score, children will cultivate essential teamwork skills. It’s a fun and engaging way for our children to learn the basics of basketball while developing important motor skills and social skills, such as following instructions and interacting with other peers.
